🍯 Sticky Honey Garlic Ribs
🥩 Ingredients
- **1 kg (2 lb)** Ribs (Beef or Pork, cut into individual ribs or small sections)
- **1/2 cup (120 ml)** Honey
- **1/4 cup (60 ml)** Soy Sauce (Corrected from ‘say suce’)
- **4 cloves** Garlic, minced
- **1 tablespoon** Grated Ginger (Corrected from ‘tab/espoon’)
- **2 tablespoons** Rice Vinegar or White Vinegar (Corrected from ‘vineear’)
- **1 teaspoon** Sesame Oil (optional, but recommended for flavor)
- **1/2 teaspoon** Black Pepper
- **1/4 teaspoon** Red Pepper Flakes (optional, for heat)
- **1 tablespoon** Cornstarch or Flour (to thicken sauce)
**Note:** For the sauce, the liquid ingredients should combine to make an ample glaze. The recipe specifies 1/2 cup honey, 1/4 cup soy sauce, and 2 tbsp vinegar.
📝 Instructions
- **Prep Ribs:** If using pork ribs (like spare ribs or baby back ribs), remove the thin membrane from the back. Pat the ribs dry.
- **Make the Glaze:** In a bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, rice vinegar, sesame oil, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
- **Marinate (Optional but Recommended):** Place the ribs in a large Ziploc bag or dish. Pour about half of the glaze over the ribs, tossing to coat. Reserve the remaining half of the glaze for basting/thickening. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or up to 4 hours.
- **Bake/Cook:** Preheat your oven to $350^\circ F$ ($175^\circ C$). Place the ribs on a foil-lined baking sheet (or roasting rack) and bake for 60–90 minutes, turning halfway, until tender. The exact time depends on the thickness of the ribs.
- **Thicken the Sauce:** While the ribs bake, pour the remaining (un-used, reserved) glaze into a small saucepan. In a separate tiny bowl, mix the 1 tablespoon of cornstarch (or flour) with 1 tablespoon of water to create a slurry. Add the slurry to the saucepan. Bring the sauce to a simmer over medium heat, stirring constantly until it thickens into a syrupy glaze.
- **Glaze and Finish:** During the last 10–15 minutes of cooking, brush the thickened glaze generously over the ribs. For extra stickiness and caramelization, you can switch the oven to BROIL for the final 2–3 minutes, watching *very* carefully to prevent burning.
- **Serve:** Remove from oven and let the ribs rest for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with sesame seeds or chopped green onions, if desired.
