Classic Creamy Peanut Butter Fudge

Ingredients:

2 cups granulated sugar

1/2 cup unsalted butter

1/2 cup whole milk

1 cup creamy peanut butter

1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions:

Prepare the Ingredients:

Measure out all the ingredients. Have the peanut butter and optional vanilla extract ready for later use.

Cook Sugar Mixture:

In a medium saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, unsalted butter, and whole milk.

Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly to prevent burning.

Once boiling, continue to stir and cook for about 2 to 3 minutes until the mixture reaches a soft-ball stage (235°F to 240°F on a candy thermometer).

Add Peanut Butter and Vanilla:

Remove the saucepan from the heat.

Quickly stir in the creamy peanut butter and the vanilla extract until smooth and well combined.

Set the Fudge:

Pour the fudge mixture into a greased 8-inch square baking dish or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

Smooth the top with a spatula.

Cool and Cut:

Allow the fudge to cool at room temperature until set. This may take several hours. You can also refrigerate it to speed up the setting process.

Once set, cut into small squares.

Tips:

Consistency: For creamier fudge, you can add an extra tablespoon of butter or a small amount of cream.

Storage: Store the fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator to keep it fresh and to maintain its texture.

Enjoy your Classic Creamy Peanut Butter Fudge! This recipe offers a perfect balance of sweet and salty flavors, making it a great treat for any occa sion or a delightful gift.
