Philly Cheesesteak Casserole

A cheesy, hearty, and low-carb twist on the classic Philly cheesesteak! This casserole combines seasoned ground beef, peppers, onions, and melted provolone cheese for a comforting family dinner that’s easy to make any night of the week.

Ingredients

Main Components:

  • 1 ½ lb. ground beef
  • 2 bell peppers, chopped
  • ½ onion, chopped
  • 2 tsp. minced garlic
  • 1 tsp. seasoned salt
  • 8 slices provolone cheese

For the Egg Binder:

  • 4 large eggs
  • ¼ cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • Butter or oil, for greasing

Instructions

  1. Preheat & Prep: Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease a **9×9-inch baking dish** with butter or cooking spray.
  2. Brown the Beef: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the beef. Cook until it’s about halfway browned.
  3. Add the Veggies: Stir in the chopped **bell peppers and onion**. Continue cooking until the meat is fully browned and the vegetables are tender.
  4. Add Seasoning: Mix in the **minced garlic and seasoned salt**. Sauté for another 30 seconds to bring out the flavor. Drain off any excess grease.
  5. Layer the Casserole: Spread the beef and veggie mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish. Top with the slices of **provolone cheese** to cover the surface.
  6. Prepare the Egg Mixture: In a medium bowl, whisk together the **eggs, heavy whipping cream, and Worcestershire sauce** until smooth and combined.
  7. Pour over the Casserole: Gently pour the egg mixture evenly over the beef and cheese layers.
  8. Bake: Place the dish in the oven and bake for **25–30 minutes**, or until the egg mixture is set and the top is slightly golden.
  9. Rest and Serve: Remove from the oven and let it rest for about 5 minutes before slicing.
