AMISH COUNTRY CASSEROLE

Posted on April 13, 2025 By admin No Comments on AMISH COUNTRY CASSEROLE

Is This a Real Amish Dish?
To be quite honest, I have no idea if this is a real Amish dish or not. How exactly is a dish deemed “Amish”? Does this category of food have a set of rules or recommendations? If a recipe’s name begins with the word “Amish,” you can almost always assume it will be delicious. That’s all I know. Straight? So, this dish could be Amish or it might not be; I’m willing to wager it doesn’t matter in the end. It is simple, cheap, and excellent. Floor beef, egg noodles, tomato soup, cream of mushroom soup, and seasonings make up the hearty Amish Country Casserole.

Sure thing! For this, ground Italian sausage works wonderfully. Other options include ground pig, chicken, or turkey.

Given that this casserole’s cooking time may not be sufficient to thoroughly cook some veggies, you might want to ensure that it’s just partly done before adding it.

Ingredients
750 grams of lean ground beef (about 1.5 pounds)
1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil
1 chopped onion
2 cups of smashed garlic

500 grams (16 ounces) of pasta of your choosing
600 grams (22.6 ounces) of condensed tomato soup
600 grams (22.6 ounces) of condensed mushroom soup
1 cup (250 milliliters, or 8.45 fluid ounces) of milk
Half a cup of paprika
Half a cup of dried parsley
Salt and pepper to taste
Guidelines
Spray a baking dish with cooking spray and preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
Make sure to follow the package directions while cooking the pasta in a big pot.
In the meantime, soften the garlic and onion in olive oil; add the minced beef and continue cooking until it is tender.
After the pasta is done cooking, remove it from the pan and put it back in there. Pasta should be tossed with cooked meat, tomato soup, mushrooms, and milk; then, add salt and pepper to taste.
After transferring to the baking dish, top with paprika and parsley. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden.
Have fun!
