Prepare a feast: Slow Cooker Poor’s Cubed Steak with Gravy

 

Even though it’s called “Poor’s Cubed Steak,” this dish always leaves me feeling like I’ve won the lottery

 

I’m craving a meal that Delicious on the palate and light on the pocket? Say hello to the Slow Cooker Poor Man’s Cubed Steak! This isn’t just any meat dish; is a story of transformation in which simple cube steaks become irresistibly tender, flavorful morsels. All you need is a handful of ingredients and the magic of your trusty slow cooker. Your reward?A sumptuous meal your family will love!

 

We have unlocked the secret of our star ingredient: cubed steak.

What’s wrong with diced steak?

While regular steaks are thick cuts characterized by their tenderness and juicy marbling, the cube steak (or “tiny steak”) is a thinner slice that has been mechanically tenderized. Find them by their unique cubic patterns.But here’s the thing: Regular steaks sizzle over high heat, while our hero, the cube steak, thrives in slow-and-love cookers, making it the perfect, inexpensive centerpiece for dishes like ours.

Ingredients:

4 cubed steaks

 

1/2 cup water

 

1 can (10.5 ounces) soup, French onions

 

1 can (10.75 ounces) Cream Chicken Soup

 

1 package Au Jus Sauce Mix

 

Steps to Deliciousness:

 

Prepare your 6-quart slow cooker and begin mixing. Mix soups, sauce mixture and water.Mix them well.

Carefully dip the diced steaks into this delicious mixture, making sure every inch gets the sauce love.

Cover and let the slow cooker work its magic on a low setting for 6-8 hours.

 

Do you love a thick sauce? Us too!Towards the end, mix equal parts cornstarch and cold water (about 2-3 tablespoons each) in a small bowl. Add it to the slow cooker mixture.

Increase the heat to high and cook for another 20 minutes until the sauce becomes velvety and rich.

 

Serve it and watch it disappear!
